Privacy Policy

AntShot is a browser extension for taking and annotating screenshots. It is built to work on your device. This policy explains what data the extension handles, what leaves your device, and why.
Summary
- Your screenshots, history and settings are stored only in your browser on your device. We never receive them.
- The extension contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not collect your browsing history.
- The only network requests the extension makes are to our license server, and only if you activate a Pro license.
- We do not sell or share personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or credit decisions.
Data stored on your device
When you capture a page, the image, the page title, the page address and the positions of links on the page are saved in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) so you can edit them and find them in History. Your settings and the state of your trial or license are saved with the browser's extension storage. This data stays on your device. You can delete screenshots in History at any time, and uninstalling the extension removes all of it.
Data sent to the license server
If you activate AntShot Pro, the extension sends the following to our license server:
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your license key | When you activate, every few days to re-check the license, and when you deactivate | To confirm the license is valid |
| A device name made of the product name, your operating system and four random characters (for example, "AntShot Windows a1b2") | When you activate | So you can tell your devices apart, because one key works on a limited number of devices |
| The activation ID returned by the server | When re-checking and deactivating | To identify this device's activation |
No screenshots, page contents or browsing history are ever sent. The free version and the free trial make no network requests at all.
The license server runs on Cloudflare Workers. It passes the data above to Creem, our payment provider, to check the license, and does not store it. Like any web service, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request information to deliver and protect the service, and keeps short-lived operational logs. Our server does not write license keys to its logs.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Creem (creem.io), which acts as the merchant of record. Creem collects your payment details, name, email address and billing country to process the payment, calculate taxes and send your license key. We never see your full card details. Creem shares order details with us (such as your email address, what you bought and the license key) so we can provide support. See Creem's privacy policy.
